Meal in the Field: September 8th, 2026 – Kevin Rayburn

🌾 For this week’s Meal in the Field, we spent some time with Kevin Rayburn and his crew at Rayburn Farms in Grandview, IN.

Rayburn Farms is a large operation, and keeping everything moving means long days and plenty of hard work. Whether they’re planting, harvesting, or making runs to the grain depot, there’s always something that needs to be done.

One thing we learned about Kevin and his crew is that they’re always willing to make time for the people around them. Ryder, an 11-year-old from the area, has a particular appreciation for the farm and all of its big equipment that any 11-year-old would dream of riding. The crew welcomes Ryder into the tractors and semis whenever they can, and have even let him take the wheel from time to time!

We were grateful for the chance to share a meal with Kevin and his crew and recognize the hard work they put into their operation, along with the kindness they’ve shown to a young person who clearly loves being around the farm.
