Andrew Emmick was running on one hour of sleep. He had celebrated a World Series championship, caught an early flight to Milwaukee, and checked into his hotel about 20 minutes before joining us. Still, he made time for a video interview on the Country Roots Morning Show.
Andrew and I went to Hancock County High School together, so catching up during this moment was especially rewarding. His career in strength and conditioning has taken him into the Milwaukee Brewers organization, working with the Nashville Sounds and helping players prepare for baseball’s next level. Now, he’s getting to experience a championship celebration firsthand.

“I’m rolling on one hour of sleep right now,” Andrew told us, describing the quick turnaround from celebrating to catching his flight.
Next comes Friday’s parade and rally in Milwaukee. Andrew said the group was expected to report at 6:30 a.m., making for another early start. He described plans for double-decker buses carrying players and flatbed trucks carrying other members of the organization. With a laugh, he referred to his group as “the peasants down at the bottom.” But being part of that parade is a moment worth celebrating for everyone whose work helped support the organization.

“Looking forward to being in the parade and then going to the rally,” he said. “It’s going to be a crazy experience.”
There’s also a personal connection that makes this season especially meaningful. Andrew’s father, a huge Brewers fan, passed away on May 6 of this year. The Brewers went on a winning streak afterward, adding a poignant connection between this remarkable season and his father’s memory.

For those of us back home, it’s special to see someone from Hancock County be part of something this big. For me, it was a privilege to reconnect with Andrew and congratulate him as he prepared to take it all in.
Andrew, thank you for making time for us after a long night and an early flight. Enjoy the parade, the rally, and the chance to reflect on everything you’ve experienced.
