Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari had plenty to celebrate at the 2026 Golden Ticket Awards, taking home several of the amusement industry’s biggest honors, including the return of a familiar title to one of the world’s most famous wooden roller coasters.
The Voyage was named Best Wooden Roller Coaster in the world, reclaiming an award it once dominated for five consecutive years from 2007 to 2011.
But The Voyage wasn’t the only big winner for the Santa Claus, Indiana park.
Splashin’ Safari was named World’s Top Water Park, while Holiday World managed an impressive sweep near the top of the water ride rankings. Mammoth was named the world’s best water park ride, followed by Wildebeest at number 2 and Cheetah Chase at number 3.
The celebration will continue next year, too, as Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is set to host the 2027 Golden Ticket Awards.
The Voyage is celebrating by taking off the brakes
Coming off its return to the top, Holiday World is giving fans a chance to experience The Voyage in one of its most intense forms.
On Friday, September 25, The Voyage will operate trimless from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. during a special event with admission priced at just $25.
So, what exactly does “trimless” mean? During normal operation, The Voyage uses trim brakes during the ride to help control the trains speed. For these special rides, those mid-course trims are turned off. For the non-coaster enthusiast: they’re letting The Voyage RUN!
Without those trims slowing the train, riders can expect a faster and more aggressive second half on a coaster already known for its speed, airtime and relentless layout. It’s a fitting victory lap for a coaster that just found its way back to the top of the wooden coaster world.
Best Wooden Roller Coaster. Best Water Park. The top three waterpark rides in the world. And now five hours of trimless Voyage rides for $25 on September 25th, along with everything else there is to already do in the dry part of the park… Holiday World is having a pretty great September.
