Marty Brown stopped by the Country Roots Morning Show this morning—calling in while driving to Nashville—to talk country music and share some exciting news: his son, Christian Brown, will appear on the hit show American Idol on January 26 on ABC.
Marty, who signed with MCA Records in 1991, is originally from Maceo and was once the talk of the town. To this day, he still considers Maceo home. During the interview, Marty spoke lovingly about his mother, Barbara Jean Brown, who passed away this Christmas. She was his biggest fan, and Marty called her his “country best friend.” She often helped him with his songwriting and was never afraid to tell him when a song was too long or needed a little tweaking.
