(Owensboro, KY): Windy Hollow Speedway hosted night number two of the Midwest Dirt Nationals on Sunday, October 12th.
The event was a partnership between Windy Hollow Speedway and Paducah International Raceway who ran the event on Saturday, October 11th.
The event paid $3000 to the winner of Open Wheel Modifieds, and $1000 to the winner of CRUSA Street Stocks. The Windy Hollow event was presented by RA Alexander Excavating and Utility Contractors.
The top drivers from across the region in each class converged on the Windy Hollow property on Sunday in hopes of cashing in at the pay window at the conclusion of their respective features.
For the Open Wheel Modified division, Owensboro’s Tyler Nicely used the information he gathered in last week’s $1500 to win Open Wheel Modified feature to set fast time, win his heat race and take home the $3000 pay day in victory lane.
“This is the best Windy Hollow has ever been,” said Nicely. “Trevor and Misty have done a great job getting the place in the shape it’s in. George, Mark (Ballard) and the entire crew have made this place awesome.”
In the CRUSA Street Stocks, Owensboro’s Chase Estes took the honors capturing fast time, heat race and feature honors to earn the $1000 pay day.
“We weren’t supposed to race this weekend because Steve (Tong) is on vacation, but he called me last Wednesday and said take the car to Windy,” said Chase Estes.
