During the week, you can find Jaxson Boling in the class room at Owensboro Middle School, where he is an eighth grade student.
After class, you’ll likely find Jaxson at the ball field where he plays for multiple teams including the Tri-County Kingz, a 14U AA ball team based out of Owensboro. Jaxson has earned the nickname “Boss” for his pitching prowess through his young ball career.
On Friday nights, you can catch “Boss” behind the wheel at Windy Hollow Dragway in the Friday Night Trophy Class, where he leads the Friday night points series, accumulating multiple wins through the 2025 season in his dad’s 2005 GMC Sierra Pickup.
Jaxson has spent much of his life at the race track, whether it be Windy Hollow Dragway, Kentucky Motor Speedway or Windy Hollow Speedway.
“Boss” spent his youth at Kentucky Motor Speedway, watching his father, Patrick Boling on the track in his No. 22 asphalt car.
Patrick Boling has transitioned from the driver’s seat to crew chief for both his son, Jaxson Boling as well as his wife, Laura “Bombshell Barbie” Boling.
“I wasn’t brought up around drag racing when I was young. We were always at the circle tracks but it sure is a good time to hang out with friends and ride with Boss when he runs the trophy class,” said Patrick.
Jaxson’s great-grandfather, Mike Libs helped found Windy Hollow Dragway in it’s previous location on Veach Rd.
“Windy Hollow has always been a special place in our family’s heart,” said Jaxson Boling.
Jaxson competes on track with drivers over twice his age, including his baseball coach, Jerry Martin who is battling with the 13-year old for the points championship.
“It’s fun, especially when I can beat Jerry and he starts getting mad,” added Jaxson Boling.
Jaxson and the Friday Night Fun racers will return on October 3rd for the final Friday night points race at Windy Hollow Dragway.
