A Whitesville woman is facing charges after allegedly filing a false report with law enforcement, according to Daviess County records. In a news conference covered by the Owensboro Times, it was revealed that 29-year-old Kylen Edge was arrested Thursday and charged under Kentucky law for falsely reporting an incident, a misdemeanor offense. The case is linked to an August 13 citation and comes amid increased concern over misinformation related to an assault report at a local business. Authorities say extra patrols were added while the investigation unfolded. The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office has repeatedly urged residents to avoid spreading unverified information as it hampers their efforts. Edge will appear in court September 24.
