The Kentucky Housing Task Force is reporting that the Commonwealth is short more than 200-thousand housing units. The task force’s final report was released last week and found the shortage is in both rental and owned houses. More than 50-percent of income from renters is going to the cost of housing. The report also a noted a decrease in construction due to costs of supplies and labor. Senator Jimmy Higdon hopes that he and others will present legislation to address the housing problem.
