Muhlenberg County is set to open a new training center, the Western Kentucky Regional Training Center, in the former South Middle School in Greenville. The center is a collaborative effort involving the Muhlenberg Economic Growth Alliance, Madisonville Community College, and local schools, focusing on advanced training in PLC, Robotics, Automation, and Mechatronics. The facility, sprawling over 27 acres, will also include a commercial Kitchen Incubator to support local food businesses and plans for affordable housing on excess land. The initiative, funded by grants and industry contributions, aims to boost the local workforce and industry by providing targeted educational programs.
