OPD responds to Daviess Street due to suicide threat

On Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 6:02 P.M., Officers with the Owensboro Police Department responded to the 2500 Block of Daviess Street in reference an individual threatening suicide.

Upon arrival, officers heard a single gunshot coming from the residence. Officers established a perimeter while Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and obtained a search warrant.

Members from the Owensboro Police Department Emergency Response Team responded and executed the search warrant.

The Emergency Response Team made entry into the residence and observed a male subject with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Emergency Response Team performed life-saving measures before American Medical Response transported the male subject to the Owensboro
Health Regional Hospital for medical treatment.
