The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced it will close a portion of Indiana 66 starting Monday, June 1 for an embankment slide correction. The work will require the closure of about a quarter mile of Indiana 66 near Deer Creek, about 1.5 miles east of the Indiana 166 junction. That section of roadway will be closed around the clock during the project. Workers will dig out an embankment that has eroded, and then put in a wire retaining wall system. Work is expected to take until mid August. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
