UTICA, Ky. (December 14, 2023)—An off-duty Kentucky State Police trooper driving south on US 231 in Daviess County observed a Maroon Ford F-150 driving reckless in traffic around 5:30p.m.
The truck passed the trooper and slammed on his brakes several times. The driver of the truck then brandished a handgun and pointed it at the off-duty trooper before speeding off.
Troopers were able to find the vehicle at a residence in the 2500 block of Browns Valley-Red Hill Road in Utica.
Charles H. Mattingly, 27 of Utica was arrested and charged with:

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Possession of Marijuana
He was transported and lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro.
