Traffic Change Today on U.S. 231 Natcher Bridge at Owensboro as Concrete Repair Project Advances

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (July 6, 2023) – Traffic lanes will be shifted Friday, July 7, on the U.S. 231 Natcher Bridge on the Ohio River at Owensboro as work advances on concrete repairs.

All traffic – northbound and southbound – recently has been sharing the two southbound lanes of the bridge. On Friday, at about noon CDT, one of the northbound lanes will be reopened for northbound traffic, followed by reopening of the second northbound lane as soon as crews are able to remove remaining traffic control devices.

On the southbound side, the righthand “slow” lane will be closed and traffic will be transitioned onto the lefthand “passing” lane. The righthand lane will remain closed until the new concrete has had time to cure.

Drivers are cautioned to be alert when approaching and traveling through the work zone. Reduce speed, eliminate distractions and watch for workers.
