The Daviess County Board of Education has approved moving forward with its purchase of the previously owned US Bank property, at 4801 Frederica Street. According to media partner 14News, officials say this will become the new location for the DCPS School Support Center. Currently, DCPS is providing support to the district from five separate buildings. The District’s long-term Facility Plan detailed purchasing a pre-existing building in the community to keep costs lower. With the cost-per-foot of a new building being around $234, purchasing the US Bank property will only be just under $44 a square foot. The tract was first home to Owensboro’s Coca-Cola factory.
