Funeral arrangements have been set for Owensboro City Commissioner Larry Maglinger. He died Monday at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville. Maglinger was in the middle of his third term as commissioner. Commissioner Maglinger was an entrepreneur, local business owner, and entertainer. He began his first term on the Owensboro Board of Commissioners in 2019 and he received the highest number of votes, making him Mayor Pro Tem, a role in which he served for both his first and second terms. In honor of Maglinger, city flags will be lowered to half-staff until the day after his funeral. A celebration of life will be held Friday at 10am in the Woodward Theatre in the Bluegrass Hall of Fame and Museum. Doors will open there at 9am. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory Thursday from noon until 8pm. Maglinger will be entombed at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
