CHILDISH GAMBINO WINS PLAGIARISM LAWSUIT FOR 'THIS IS AMERICA': Childish Gambino has won the plagiarism lawsuit over his 2018 record, “This Is America.” According to HipHopDX, Gambino appears to have won on a technicality because rapper Kidd Wes, who sued him, registered his copyright with the United States Library of Congress. Also, court records show that Kidd Wes only has a copyright registration for the recorded version of “Made In America,” not for the actual music and since he didn’t obtain a recording and music registration at the same time, his claim against Childish Gambino was invalid.
