A bill regulating the use of license-plate reading Flock cameras has passed a senate committee. Senate Bill 129 says that any entity, such as a city or police department, using the Flock cameras may keep the data pulled from the cameras for only 90 days. The bill also dictates that entities may not sell the information pulled from the cameras. Around 20 other states have passed similar legislation, according to the bill’s sponor, Senator Jimmy Higdon. The bill passed the senate transportation committee, and now heads to the full senate.
