A Kentucky State Police trooper conducted a traffic stop on East Byers Ave and New Hartford Road in Owensboro around 10:15pm for a traffic violation. During the stop, the trooper identified the driver as Chad A. Davis, 44 of Owensboro. During the stop, the trooper and a Daviess County Sheriff canine located six individually packaged bags of suspected methamphetamine, scales and a 9mm pistol.
Davis was arrested and charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd (or greater) Offense-Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Handgun by Convicted Felon
- Disregarding a Stop Sign
Davis was transported and lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro.
KSP Troopers were assisted by Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, HIDTA Team and Homeland Security.
