(West Yellowstone, MT) — Over a dozen bison are dead after being struck by a semi-truck near the western entrance of Yellowstone National Park in Montana. A news release from the West Yellowstone Police Department said some needed to be euthanized due to serious injuries. They often travel during the winter months near paved roads and snowmobile trails, which puts them near highways.
