A Virginia woman is facing charges after deputies say she led authorities on a chase early Sunday morning. According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, at around 1:30am, 29-year-old Katie Jo Bowes of Alton, Virginia, was driving close behind a deputy on KY 144, driving like she was trying to ram the cruiser and swerving through all lanes of the road. After getting behind Bowes, deputies say they tried to pull her over, but she kept taking off, even making an unsafe U-turn on Pleasant Valley Road near KY 603. Deputies then approached Bowes’ vehicle and pulled her out. She was believed to be under the influence of methamphetamine. Police found a 9 month old baby in the front passenger’s side, unsecured in a rear-facing car seat. Deputies also say they found meth, a needle and open alcohol containers. Bowes faces a list of 14 charges, some of which include fleeing/evading, wanton endangerment, drug charges, and endangering the welfare of a minor.
