On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, Erica West (36 years old of Owensboro) was indicted by the Daviess County Grand Jury for Unlawfully Providing/Permitting a Minor to Possess a Handgun. The Indictment Warrant was served on October 6, 2022 by officers with the Owensboro Police Department. This charge stems from an investigation completed by officers where Erica West intentionally provided a handgun to a minor that was recovered from a firearms related incident involving juveniles.
Officers are committed to reducing gun violence in our community and holding those providing firearms to our youth accountable. Officers with the Owensboro Police Department will continue to follow up on all leads related to firearms offenses. Erica West was arrested and transported to the Daviess County Detention Center where she was released a short time later.
Erica West has previously been charged with:
- Theft by Deception – including Cold Checks (21 Counts)
- Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property
- Resisting Arrest
- Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree
