Comedienne and actress Judy Tenuta, the “Love Goddess,” died Thursday. She was 72. Tenuta was known for her shrill, gravelly delivery, her acerbic expletive-laden humor, and her accordion-playing. She added the accordion to her act at the suggestion of friends as she developed her wisecracking persona. Tenuta described her according as “an instrument of love and submission.” It’s on display in the Hollywood Museum. The Chicago native is survived by her life partner Vern Pang, five brothers, and a sister.
