Louder Than Life 2022 was lit! Were you there? If not let us tell you why a fan of rock or metal music should not miss it next year! Danny Wimmer Presents does an amazing job with Louder Than Life. Over 170,000 people passed through the gates this year which set a festival attendance record, officially becoming America’s biggest rock festival and placing over 30 million dollars into Kentucky’s economy.
Thursday night headliners Nine Inch Nails really kicked off the show. This performance was on the same date as they celebrated the 30th anniversary of their landmark EP Broken, and they delivered several tracks from that record such as “Wish,” “Gave Up” and their cover of Pigface’s “Suck” among other highlights in a career-spanning setlist.
Friday night Slipknot blazed the headlining stage and played some new songs from their highly anticipated new album and fan favorites such as Wait and Bleed and Duality.
Saturday was time to Rock and Roll all night when the Gods of Rock graced us with their presence. Kiss took the stage to a packed house, this show was just another stop on their End of the Road Tour. It has been a dream of mine to see Kiss since I was a child, now if I die I can go out happy!
Sunday is what we all were waiting for when the Red Hot Chili Peppers took the stage and John Frusciante was back playing all Chili Peppers fan’s favorites such as “Suck My Kiss” and “Give It Away”. What an experience it was to see John back with the band and I hope he sticks around for good this time.
