A new episode of the hit children’s show ‘Peppa Pig’ is introducing two LGBT characters. A petition for the show to feature an episode with same-sex parents began circling in 2019 and garnered over 25-thousand signatures over the last few years. Then, a new episode aired this week featured a character who told Peppa Pig that she has “two mommies” and draws a picture of herself holding hands with them. The episode is titled ‘Families’ and focuses on just that — different types of families that Peppa Pig learns about. The cartoon show has been broadcast in over 180 countries and translated into 40 languages since it’s premiere in 2004.
