A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans milling, asphalt paving, and sidewalk repairs along a section of KY 334/Owensboro-Lewisport Road in Hancock County starting Monday, September 14. This project along KY 334/Owensboro-Lewisport Road runs from the KY 657/4TH street Intersection at mile point 5.540 extending eastward to a point just east of First Street at mile point 5.987 in Lewisport, a distance of just under ½ mile. This paving and sidewalk upgrade project on KY 334 runs along Pell Street in Lewisport. The contractor will start with work to bring sidewalks up to ADA standards. That portion of the work is expected to take about 1 to 2 weeks to complete, weather permitting. The contractor will follow with milling and asphalt paving that is expected to take a few days to complete. Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers in the work zone. Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow. J.H. Rudolph & Company, Inc., is the prime contractor on this $88,365 highway improvement project.
