Kentucky’s senators are responding very differently to Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney’s election loss in Wyoming on Tuesday. Cheney lost her state’s only seat in the house to Trump-backed Harriet Hageman by a convincing margin. Senator Rand Paul went to Twitter after Cheney’s defeat to criticize her by saying her foreign policy decisions were wrong and damaging. His response was very different to Mitch McConnell who has remained silent on the issue. It is another example of McConnell staying silent in the wake of a major development in the party. He also took several days to make a statement about the search of Mar-a-Lago.
