Indiana’s Democratic lawmakers want to be arguing over tax rebates, not waiting for a new abortion law. Democrats at the statehouse yesterday accused Republicans of a ‘bait and switch.’ The legislature was supposed to be in special session yesterday to vote on Governor Holcomb’s 225 dollar tax rebate checks. Instead, Indianapolis Democrat Jean Breaux says Republicans are crafting a new abortion law ‘behind closed doors.’ Breaux and his fellow Democrats didn’t want the tax rebate checks, and don’t want a new abortion law. Indiana’s special session is now scheduled to start on July 25th.
