The Tell City Police Department arrested a North Carolina man following a vehicle pursuit reaching two counties on Wednesday. At around 8:08am, Central Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a blue van with an enclosed trailer in tow, leaving a local storage unit facility where locks had been cut on multiple units. Moments later, a vehicle and trailer matching the description was observed on State Road 66 west. Sgt. David Biever initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver failed to stop and proceeded to lead authorities on an 18-mile pursuit. A deputy with the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office and an Indiana State Trooper each deployed tire deflation devices along the pursuit which assisted in getting the vehicle to stop on Highway 231 in Spencer County. The driver, identified as 44-year-old Teddy Brown, was arrested without incident. It was found that Brown was in possession of property believed to be stolen from the storage units. It was also determined that the enclosed trailer had been reported stolen in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. This investigation remains active, and additional charges are possible.
