Thursday’s COVID-19 report pushes Kentucky past another milestone. There were another 30 virus-related deaths to report, increasing Kentucky’s death toll past 13-thousand. There were also close to nine-thousand more cases of COVID. Luckily, Kentucky’s COVID-positivity rate continues to inch down, now at 25.67%. Over 64% of eligible Kentuckians have received at least their first dose of the COVID vaccine. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says it’s time to move back towards “normal.” On the Senate floor, McConnell said it’s time to re-open America and “wind down” COVID-related State of Emergencies. Responding to McConnell’s comments, Governor Andy Beshear argued Kentucky is already “open,” but said there are still risks to ending State of Emergencies.
