The Owensboro Red Devils host the Grayson County Cougars on 92.9 WVJS brought to you by Owensboro Health.
Owensboro jumped out early and never looked back in route to a 58-7 win over Grayson County. Kasey Boone was 4-4 passing for 89 yards and 2 touchdowns. Freshman Deion Winstead led the rushing attack with 81 yards on 6 touches with a touchdown. Tramel Barksdale carried the ball 5 times for 61 yards and a touchdown. Khalil Rogers and Kenyatta Carbon each had 1 reception with 1 touchdown.
Defensively, OHS was just as dominate, holding Grayson County to 84 total yards of offense. OHS also scored 3 defensive touchdowns on the night. Zach Clark had his 3rd pick 6 of the season, Jeremiah Goodwin & Sahvon Hines scooped up fumbles and returned them for touchdowns. Linebacker Kindrick Williams had another productive night with 5 tackles.
Special teams once again was explosive for the Devils. Maurice Moorman returned a punt for a touchdown, and had another punt return for a touchdown called a touchback on a fumble through the end zone. Kicker Drew Lanz was 8-8 on extra points.
Grayson County was able to get on the board via Kaylor Decker’s touchdown run in the 3rd quarter. Decker was also able to complete 13-19 passes for 91 yards. Owen Bratcher caught 3 passes for 32 yards. Hunter Tomes caught 4 passes for 29 yards for the Cougars. Michael Wood led the Cougar defense with 5 tackles and Jaren VanMeter had 4 tackles and 1 interception.
