The Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders captured their first football national champion Monday night with a 45-13 win over Northwestern at Grambling State University. Lindsey Wilson completed a perfect season that saw the Blue Raiders win every game by over 21 points. The Owensboro area is well represented on the Blue Raider Roster as we’ll spotlight each player:
TJ James (Owensboro High School)- James is a 5’8 175lbs senior defensive back who is a three year starter for a stout Blue Raider defense. The former Red Devil standout from OHS’ 2014 state runner-up team finished the season with 34 tackles and 1 interception. James also returned 5 kickoffs for an average of 21 yards per return.
Will Nalley (Daviess County High School)- Nalley is a 6’0 215lbs junior transfer linebacker from Murray State. Nalley earned the Bluegrass Division Academic All-Conference honors and finished the season with 7 total tackles.
Hunter Henson (Muhlenberg County High School)- Henson is a 6’5 321 lbs freshman offensive lineman from Greenville.
Gavin Morris (Meade County High School)- Morris is a 6’3 310lbs freshman offensive lineman from Brandenburg who will look to major in physical education.
Jonathan Stefanapoulos (Daviess County High School)- Stefanapoulos is a 6’0 333lbs freshman defensive lineman from Owensboro.
