In just over a week after being arrested for impersonating a police officer, the Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport board voted to fire the Airport Director Robert Barnett. Barnett was arrested for flashing a badge and stating he was a deputy with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department after a deputy with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call at Barnett’s residence on January 22nd.
The Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport board voted to hire retired airport director Bob Whitmer as interim director until a full-time replacement is found.
