The vote in August by the Daviess County Fiscal Court to move the Confederate statue from the lawn of the Daviess County Courthouse has taken another step forward.
In August, Judge Executive Al Mattingly stated a committee would be named to determine the future location of the statue.
As of Thursday, all committee members have been named. They are: Aloma Dew, Wesley Acton, Kenny Barr, Anne Damron and Tim Kline. These members were chosen by the Daviess County Fiscal Court to be placed on the Confederate Monument Relocation Committee.
Their job will be to find the new location for the statue.
The committee has been given approximately 6 months to do so.
