The frenetic "Stone Cold Crazy" is one of the hardest rocking tracks Queen ever recorded.
Though never a single, the group-written song was a popular album track and received radio play along with the better-known "Killer Queen."
Sheer Heart Attack, Queen's third album, faced great amounts of criticism when it was released. As producer Roy Thomas Baker noted, "People didn't like it at the time, because they thought it was a bit over the top, which it was. It had every conceivable production idea that was available to us."
Nevertheless, Sheer Heart Attack reached Number 12 on the Billboard 200, and Number Two in the U.K.
Sheer Heart Attack was also Queen's first gold-certified album in the U.S.
During the making of the album, guitarist Brian May was diagnosed with a duodenal ulcer that required emergency surgery and delayed the recording sessions.
