Twenty members of the Tamarack Elementary School staff will participate in the Dale (Ind.) Fall Festival hog wrestling competition this weekend. The contest begins at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, in the Dale Town Park, located next to Brown Brothers Lumber Co.
TES will be represented by five teams of four competitors in the contest, which requires contestants to catch a hog and place it on a tire in the middle of a muddy pit. Trophies will be awarded to the teams completing this task in the least amount of time.
TES principal Carrie Munsey said this activity is a good fit for her school’s focus on team building. “Our motto is ‘Go Pig or Go Home!’” she said. “The success of most organizations depends on the ability of individuals to build effective teams. The main goals of team-building are to improve productivity and motivation. Taking employees out of the school helps teams break down barriers, eliminate distractions and have fun.”
