If all goes as planned, a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to take down a work zone along the Audubon Parkway in Henderson County before the Thanksgiving Holiday. Two-way traffic has been running along the westbound lanes to allow reconstruction of the eastbound lanes in this work zone running from mile point 0.0 at the Pennyrile Parkway Interchange extending eastward to mile point 8.5. Work has progressed to a point that the main traffic restrictions along this work zone can come down prior to the holiday driving period. Once the main work zone is removed, the contractor will still have some finish work to complete in coming weeks. That work which includes erosion control, seeding, and other finish work can be accomplished with short and intermittent lane restrictions. Hall Contracting is the prime contractor on this $12.29 million highway improvement project. The project included repair of a dip near the 11 mile marker on the Audubon completed last fall.
