Kentucky State Police troopers and U.S. Marshal’s Service where searching surrounding counties for fugitive Roger Burnett, who is wanted in Indiana for various felonies. Just after 8pm, the investigation led troopers to the 100 block of James Street in McHenry (Ohio County). When troopers turned onto James Street, they observed Burnett standing outside in a driveway. He ran into a residence where he barricaded himself. After a two hour standoff, Burnett was captured and was arrested without incident.
Roger D. Burnett, 32 of Lewisport was charged by troopers with the following:
1) Fleeing Police on Foot
2) Criminal Trespassing 1st Degree
3) Possession of a Handgun by Convicted Felon
4) Absconding Parole Supervision
5) Fugitive From Another State (Indiana)
Burnett was transported and lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center in Hartford awaiting extradition to Indiana.
