A significant development in Daviess County, Kentucky: Charles Mattingly, 34, has been arrested following a fatal collision on Highway 144 last September. Authorities say Mattingly’s SUV crossed the center line, striking Joseph Prater’s pickup truck head-on; Prater, of Reynolds Station, was killed at the scene while on his way to work. After months of investigation, lab results confirmed controlled substances in Mattingly’s blood at the time of the crash. He now faces charges of Wanton Murder and Driving Under the Influence. Mattingly was indicted by a grand jury and booked into the Daviess County Detention Center.
