The McLean County Board of Education has made a couple of new hires, a new high school principal and an interim superintendent. According to the Messenger-Inquirer, the board voted Tuesday to accept Assistant Superintendent Steve Riggs as the district’s interim replacement for Tres Settle, who is leaving after seven years to become the superintendent for the Calloway County Board of Education. Board members say they’ll likely need Riggs’ services through the month of July before a permanent superintendent is found. Also, Drew Taylor was selected as the new principal of McLean County High School. The MCHS site-based council unanimously approved Taylor to succeed Ashley Troutman, who was the high school’s principal for seven years.
