I had the chance to sit down and talk with Josh Merritt about what he calls his baby, the River City Writers Round. He has taken influence from the Nashville music scene, where he has attended writers rounds, and brought that experience to Owensboro.
Josh says the writers rounds are almost like swap meets, where you can share your music with other people. I have personally attended the River City Writers Round, and I love the way each song gets peeled back so you can hear the original story that brought it to life.
The Writers Round is this Sunday, January 18, at Brasher’s Little Nashville, located at 123 2nd Street. The event starts at 4 p.m. and goes until 7 p.m. A full list of artists is available on the River City Writers Round Facebook page.
