The Volunteer Owensboro Minute, brought to you by American Legion Post 9 continues to shine a light on the people and programs making a real difference right here in our community.
This week, I had the chance to sit down in the studio with Randy Lanham and the conversation was all about impact, especially when it comes to our younger generation.
One of the most exciting things we talked about is a new initiative called Kindness Kid. This program is all about recognizing kids in our community who are doing good without expecting anything in return. Whether it is helping a neighbor, standing up for someone, or just going out of their way to be kind, these kids are being noticed. And the best part? They are being surprised and celebrated for it.
It is a simple idea, but a powerful one. When you shine a light on kindness, it grows. And programs like Kindness Kid are helping build a culture where doing the right thing is something worth celebrating.
We also took a look ahead to April, and there is a lot to be excited about. Volunteer Owensboro is focusing on getting people outside and connected with nature, while also continuing to highlight local non-profits that are making a difference in unique ways. From outdoor activities to hands-on opportunities to serve, it is a reminder that volunteering does not have to look one certain way. There is something for everyone.
The Volunteer Owensboro Minute is all about telling these stories and helping you find your place to get involved. And with community partners like American Legion Post 9 stepping up to support these efforts, it makes it even more special.
If you have ever thought about giving back or just want to see the good happening around Owensboro, now is the perfect time to jump in.
