An Owensboro police officer faces charges after a disturbance Monday night at River Valley Behavioral Health. Authorities responded to a 911 call alleging that 39-year-old Christina Butler hit her child and a staff member during the child’s admission process. According to the police report, both Butler and her child admitted to a physical confrontation. Staff intervened, requiring three people to separate Butler from the juvenile, and both Butler and her child sustained minor injuries. Though Butler denies punching the employee, witnesses and staff allege otherwise. Butler was arrested and faces charges of fourth-degree assault as the investigation continues.
