Owensboro has always been a community that shows up.
This Thursday, February 26th from 11am to 10pm, our friends at Beef ‘O’ Brady’s are opening their doors with more than just great food and familiar faces. They’re hosting a fundraiser to help with funeral expenses for one of their own, Rene Howard.
Rene, along with her fiancé Diego, has been a longtime server at Beef’s. If you’ve eaten there over the years, there’s a good chance she waited on you. Maybe she refilled your sweet tea. Maybe she checked on your table during a big game. Maybe she made your night a little better without you even realizing it.
Her passing was sudden, and now Diego and their daughter, Nevaeh, are facing not only unimaginable grief but also the financial burden that comes with it.
That’s where Owensboro does what Owensboro does.
On Thursday, a portion of all food and drink sales, both dine-in and carry-out, will be donated to help ease the burden for Diego and Nevaeh. You don’t have to attend a formal event. You don’t have to buy a ticket. Just show up. Have lunch. Grab dinner. Order takeout for the family. Every meal helps.
This is more than a fundraiser. It’s neighbors helping neighbors. It’s coworkers becoming family. It’s a reminder that in moments of loss, this community rallies together.
If you’ve ever been served with a smile at Beef’s, if you believe in supporting local families, or if you simply want to do something that matters, Thursday is your opportunity.
Let’s pack the place. Let’s show up. Let’s love on this family the best way we know how.
