(Nashville, TN) A beautiful October evening and a packed grandstand set the scene for one of the most exciting race nights of the season at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, as the historic venue hosted Breast Cancer Awareness “Autumn Thunder” this past Saturday. A strong crowd filled the stands, and 125 race cars across nine divisions took part in a full night of short track action on both the ¼-mile and ⅝-mile ovals. The event, held in support of the Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition, brought together intense on-track battles, championship implications, and a strong display of community support for a meaningful cause.
The evening kicked off with the CP Race Wear Bandoleros, where Murfreesboro’s Landon Thrasher continued his season-long dominance. Thrasher charged from his fifth starting position to take the lead on lap seven and cruised to his fourth straight feature win, remaining unbeaten in Nashville point events this year. Lucas Harrison, Tryson Pinion, Jordan Bauer, and Carson Cauble rounded out the top five.
In the Pest Doctor Front Runner feature, former champion Ray Gann of Nashville led from start to finish in a caution-free eight-lapper. Gann held off Matt Hamlett and Randell Waterston to grab the victory, a win that should unofficially move him back atop the season point standings. Brett Lee and Tony Gann completed the top five.
The US Air Force Legends Pro/Masters feature was one of the night’s most competitive races. Nick Woodall took the early lead and fended off Jenson Jorgenson in a tight green-white-checkered finish to claim the win. Boston Oliver, Kyle Fletcher, and Oliver Cordell completed the top five in a nose-to-tail finish.
Bowling Green, Kentucky’s Chase Cohron earned his first Pure Stock victory of the year after a fierce early battle with point leader Phillip McCord. McCord led the opening six laps before Cohron powered by and held off all challengers the rest of the way. McCord’s runner-up finish marked his first loss of the season, while John Bradley, Cameron Choate, and Matt Barnes rounded out the top five.
The US Air Force Legends Semi-Pro division put on one of the best shows of the night. Galen Clark, Dylan Faulkner, and Bradley Swift traded the top spot multiple times in a clean, hard-fought battle. A late-race slide from Faulkner opened the door for Swift, who drove by on the inside to claim his second win of the season. Faulkner, Clark, Garrett Dies, and Logan Anderson filled out the top five.
For the first time this season, the US Air Force Legends Young Lions ran their own feature, and it was Max Olmstead II taking advantage of the opportunity. Olmstead led early and held off a fast-closing Landon Thrasher and James Faulkner after a late caution to score his second win of the year. Tryson Pinion and Collin Dickey completed the top five.
The Paschall Heating & Air Limited Late Models closed out the ¼-mile portion of the night with another exciting finish. Nicholas Formosa and Dustin Williams went toe-to-toe early before Formosa established command. After a late restart, Formosa held off Dwayne Hudson and Jonathan Dishman to take his first win of the season and close the gap in the championship race. Williams and James Jordan rounded out the top five.
In the Street Stock 35-lapper, defending champion Michael Pannell and point leader Dillon Oliver battled side by side in a race filled with lead changes and tight racing. Pannell led laps 18–23 before Oliver regrouped and powered back by on lap 24 to capture the victory and extend his point lead. Gus Moody, Beau Mitchell, and Travis Arms rounded out the top five.
The night concluded with the Pro Late Model 100, the next-to-last race of the season for the division. Hunter Wright, the point leader, drew the pole and led much of the event, but when the competition yellow flew at lap 76, the field bunched up and Jackson Boone came alive. On the restart, Boone surged past Wright and drove away in commanding fashion to secure his first win of the 2025 season. Wright, Aidan Potter, Corey Deuser, and Chase Johnson completed the top five.
The 2025 season concludes next month with the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway 40th Annual All American 400 Weekend, where division titles will be decided. Fans can visit nashvillefairgroundsspeedway. racing and follow @RaceFairgrounds on social media for updates, tickets, and full results.
