(Owensboro, KY): While seating may have been hard to come by on Sunday, there was not a shortage of action on the track at Windy Hollow Speedway.
Over 1200 fans packed the grandstands for eight classes of racing, highlighted by the American Sprint Car Tour, who made their second stop of the season at the Owensboro track.
Thirteen drivers from across the country converged onto Windy Hollow Speedway for the Sprint car stop including Racine Wisconsin’s Derek Crane.
Crane kicked off the event with a fast-qualifying time of 14.821 seconds around the 3/8-mile track.
Crane would continue the success at Windy Hollow with a win in the first heat race of the evening for the American Sprint Car Tour.
In the 25-lap feature, Crane led the event flag to flag despite a last lap battle with Oblong Illinois’ Tres Mehler which resulted in a photo finish at the start finish line.
