(Owensboro, KY): Windy Hollow Speedway was back in action on Sunday night at the legendary 3/8-mile dirt track.
The track hosted six classes of racing with the marquee event being $1000 To Win for Crown Vic Ovals presented by EZ Auto Sales & Parts.
Utica’s Morgan Vanover set the pace early in the evening as he put the No. 00 on the pole with a qualifying time of 19.348 seconds. The fastest qualifying lap earned Vanover a $100 bonus from Fischer Towing & Recovery.
The top 6 qualifiers in the Crown Vic class battled in a 6-lap “quick 6” heat race for a $200 bonus from EZ Auto Sales & Parts. Jeffery Cranmer would take home the bonus and the win in the event, which would prelude his feature performance.
Cranmer dominated the 15-lap feature and took home the $1000 dollar winning purse back to Memphis, IN.
“I really like this track, especially the way it was tonight. It was almost like racing on asphalt,” said Cranmer.
Mark Van Winkle finished in 2nd followed by Morgan Vanover who rebounded from an early issue in the event to finish 3rd.
