A serious crash near the intersection of Lonesome Pine and Windy Hollow Roads in Daviess County Thursday evening left one person critically injured. Deputies arrived to find a severely damaged 2020 Chevy sedan about 20 feet off the road, resting against a tree. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, had been ejected and was rushed to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Parts of Lonesome Pine, Windy Hollow, and Highway 554 were closed for about two hours as authorities investigated. Preliminary findings suggest alcohol use, high speed, and not wearing a seatbelt contributed to this accident.
