Speedway, Ind. (July 9, 2025) – The second of four ovals on the 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone calendar is upon ABEL Motorsports, as the series heads to the Iowa Speedway in Newton Iowa for round nine of the 2025 championship.
Fastest in the opening test session back in June, series sophomore Myles Rowe, is excited about the car he has underneath him for the 75-lap shoot out.
“I’m pumped heading into Iowa, testing went really well for us back in June and I think we have a great car underneath us,” exclaimed Rowe.
“We are going to change some things before we get to Iowa on the car, so it will be interesting to see times from practice going into qualifying. I’m looking for the top spot in qualifying based on our single car speed during the test and parlaying that into grabbing as many points as possible to continue fighting for the top three in the championship,” said Rowe.
Making his Iowa Speedway debut, Jolliet Illinois native Jordan Missig is confident heading into this weekend after getting to turn over 200 laps around the .894-mile speedway.
“Really excited to back making left turns around the bullring that is Iowa Speedway,” said Jordan Missig.
“We were pretty strong there during testing and I’m interested to see how the car will react with the NTT INDYCAR SERIES rubber down. Hopefully it creates a second lane for racing, but just curious to see how the car will react to that and in dirty air with other cars on the track,” explained Missig.
Iowa Speedway holds a special place in the mind of Callum Hedge, as this was the first oval that Hedge turned laps at in his maiden INDY NXT season in 2024.
“Really looking forward to making some left turns in corn country. I made my oval debut here last year and had a pretty good showing ending up fourth,” stated Hedge.
“When we tested here our times were competitive, and I think with the changes we have been working on we should be a bit faster even, but I’m just looking forward to getting out there and seeing what we can get done,” explained Hedge.
Jack William Miller heads to Iowa Speedway hungry to show the true potential he and the number 40 Patterson Dental/HomeLink machine have on the oval circuits.
“There’s nothing quite like oval racing in these cars, so I’m excited to be back out on an oval this weekend at Iowa Speedway,” said Jack William Miller.
“Iowa is so fast and so bumpy that it really makes it a huge challenge, especially with the cars all around so it will be interesting to see what we can do. I have to thank Patterson Dental/HomeLink because without them none of this is possible,” stated Miller.
The weekend at Iowa Speedway gets underway on Friday July 11 with both practice and qualifying with both sessions live on Fox Sports 2. The 75 lap oval shootout will be shown live on Fox Sports 1 beginning at 1:30pm ET on Saturday July 12th.
