A new report claims that many hospitals in Central Kentucky are below average when it comes to safety. Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that keeps track of patient safety, says that several Central Kentucky hospitals are below average in a variety of safety metrics such as patient falls and infections. Statewide, the report gave all hospitals in Kentucky an overall rating of 36th out of 50, with just under 23-percent of the state’s hospitals receiving an A grade.
