
A suspect was arrested by Daviess County Sheriff’s Deputies on Saturday, May 3rd, following an investigation into a reported shooting that occurred Thursday night in the 5500 block of KY 144 in Thruston. At approximately 9:45 p.m. on May 1st, DCSO patrol deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 5500 Block of KY 144. The reporting party stated that Christopher Claypool had been a guest at his home and that they had gotten into an argument and that he had told Claypool to leave. He stated that a few minutes later he heard several gunshots outside his home and that bullets came into the room that he was in causing damage to the walls and items in the room. No one was reported injured. Deputies arrived and after speaking with the homeowner began a search for Claypool who lived nearby but were unable to locate him. Detectives with the General Investigations Unit responded and along with patrol deputies obtained and executed search warrants at Claypool’s home and other locations in the area. Several drugs and drug-related items were located, seized and logged into evidence at DCSO.
On May 2nd, DCSO received information regarding Claypool’s location and located him a short time later. He was taken to DCSO to be interviewed and then arrested and lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center.
